On Going Classes

8 Week African Drumming Course Newcastle

Every Thursday we have on going African drumming classes at St Johns Church Hall, 107 Dawson St Cooks Hill, 2300 NSW, at 7pm-8:30pm

Come and join us for an awesome eight weeks of African drumming every Thursday from 7:00pm-8:30pm

You will learn traditional African drumming for djembe, dun duns and Bougarabou plus the many hand percussion instruments parts. We will also learn the songs and chants that accompany the rhythms and along with their cultural significants.

During the course we will be work on your drumming technique for the drums you are using as well as body percussion and for the more advanced students, the art of improvisation.

You will also learn Afro Brazilian Samba and we will rock and rove the streets of Newcastle Carnival style at the finish of the course.

We will also be performing at a Saturday night concert at the courses end as well this is where you get to show the community of Newcastle your African Drumming Style!!!.

If you don’t have your own drum you can use ours for a small fee or buy one of our amazing handmade traditional African Drums.

Camp Creative Bellingen, If African drumming is your passion or something you’ve always wanted to try then come and join us! Connect with the ancient language of rhythm, share in the strength, harmony and universal power of the drum.

Camp Creative 2025 African Drumming Course

2025 January 13th to the 17th in Bellingen NSW

Come and join us for an awesome week of African drumming at Camp Creative.

You will learn traditional African drumming for djembe, dun duns and Bougarabou plus the many hand percussion instruments parts.

We will also learn the songs and chants that accompany the rhythms and along with their cultural significants.

During the course we will be work on your drumming technique for the drums you are using as well as body percussion and for the more advanced students, the art of improvisation.

We will be performing on the Thursday sunset in the park and also on the Big Friday night concert. If you don’t have your own drum you can use ours for a small fee or buy one of our amazing handmade traditional African Drums.
